Cheap, drug-store brand skin care products are just as effective as salon & spa-based products....
Make-up doesn't affect break-outs....
The sun isn't as strong during Winter, so you don't need to wear sunscreen....
The foundation I use has spf in it so I don't need to wear sunscreen under it....
Products and skin care treatments do not make a difference....
These are just a few of the myths I hear on a regular basis.
For someone who has grown up in the spa industry, skin care comes as second nature to me. Most people, however, have no idea what they are doing wrong when it comes to taking care of their skin.
Before I continue let me tell you a little about me.... I am NOT a skin care therapist. Then why, you ask, am I writing a blog about skin care? Although I am not a skin care professional, per se, I like to think I know a little more than the average joe on this topic. My mother is a licensed esthetician, and has been working in skin care for over 20 years. I also worked as a receptionist in the spa industry for 6 years. Through these experiences I have gained knowledge and certain trade secrets that I would like to pass on to you.
Since I am not a professional, you can rest assured that I am not writing this blog to sell you more products or services. This is my honest take on skin care, and I truly hope you find it beneficial.
It is my goal to enlighten you with some of the knowledge I have learned over the years, and help you improve your skin. I will also provide you with special trade secrets and keep you in the know on the best, and worst, products. I will tell you about the experiences I have had with the many, many products I have tried over the years, and will write about my experiences in trying new products.
For my first post, I would like to reveal a few tips that may just make all the difference in the appearance of your skin.
That's all I have for you today, but check back regularly for more tips and fun facts!
A.K.A. The daughter of a skin-care nut ;)
